Some Manchester United fans may be dreading the upcoming clash against Manchester City and they have good reason to considering their rivals’ good form this season.
Jose Mourinho’s men kicked off their respective campaign slowly but themselves have started to pick up a bit of steam before the crucial winter period.
Supporters are often clueless as to which United will show up- the one that defeated Juventus in Turin just a few days ago or the one that lost to Derby in the Carabao Cup a few weeks ago.
Mourinho himself has admitted to his players’ inconsistency issues and believes it’s a part of ‘growing up’.
However, looking at matters historically there is cause for optimism given the Red Devils’ recent record at the Etihad Stadium as they’ve managed two wins and a draw in their last three visits.

Last season’s incredible 3-2 comeback victory having been 2-0 down at half-time is still fresh in many fans’ minds and hopefully it will give the players the confidence to express themselves later today.
Manchester United are a different beast when they puff their chests and the win against Juventus should’ve given them plenty of confidence.
The clash against City is definitely a different kind of test but the truth is Jose’s men can’t afford to drop points anymore.
