United fans should be massively worried about Jose Mourinho because of this

Manchester United fans won’t have too much to look forward to after a worrying statistic recently emerged on Jose Mourinho’s career in England.

The Portuguese has enjoyed two successful and separate spells at Chelsea which saw him win multiple Premier League titles.

Now in his third season at United, the former Real Madrid boss has so far managed to win the Europa League, Community Shield and Carabao Cup in his first season while finishing runners up in the Premier League and FA Cup last season.

Mourinho has a reputation for many things but the one that stands out the most is that he will deliver trophies yet the league has evaded him so far at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have started this campaign poorly so far and although recent form improved, they still sit in eighth place 12 games in.

According to Manchester Evening News, the startling stats of Jose’s Premier League career reads as follows:

2004/05: Chelsea first after 12 games – finished first.
2005/06: Chelsea first after 12 games – finished first.
2006/07: Chelsea second after 12 games – finished second.
2007/08: Chelsea fifth after 12 games – Mourinho sacked; finished second.
2013/14: Chelsea third after 12 games – finished third.
2014/15: Chelsea first after 12 games – finished first.
2015/16: Chelsea sixteenth after 12 games – Mourinho sacked; finished tenth.
2016/17: United sixth after 12 games – finished sixth.
2017/18: United second after 12 games – finished second.
2018/19: United eighth after 12 games.

There’s a worrying trend in his nine years in English football and that is he’s never finished higher than whatever position his sides were in after 12 games of the league has been played.

Though there’s been some fresh hope installed in Manchester United recently, there’s still plenty of pressure on Mourinho with his job still on the line.

Some fans believe his time was up a long time ago and with Zinedine Zidane lurking in the distance, the Portuguese boss has quite the task on his hands.
