Chelsea and Manchester United have both seen their hopes of landing Mauro Icardi from Inter boosted.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited on talkSPORT, the Serie A side are bracing themselves for sanctions from UEFA for breaching Financial Fair Regulations.
The report claims that Inter could be forced into raising a figure in the region of €50 million by the end of the season.
This had led to suggestions that the Argentinian striker could be moved on in order to raise funds.
Inter would be able to demand much more than €50 million from potential suitors for the striker’s signature, with the San Siro outfit unlikely to let him leave on the cheap.
Icardi has been heavily linked with moves to the Premier League for some time, most recently Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.
With the Italian still unsure on his striking options at Stamford Bridge, the Blues are said to be interested in bringing the Inter hitman to London.
