[Team News] Sporting CP v Arsenal - Emery Faces Left-Back Crisis

Unai Emery has given his team news ahead of Arsenal’s Europa League clash with Sporting CP on Thursday evening (via Arsenal.com).

Arsenal have the chance to make it 11 consecutive wins on Thursday night when they travel to Portugal to take on Sporting CP.

The Gunners are on an unbelievable and travel to Portugal with tremendous confidence.

Now, the club has released the team news ahead of the clash but it doesn’t make for good reading, the Gunners could have a crisis at left back.

Both Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac are being assessed ahead of the match after suffering from identical injuries to their right hamstrings.

Dinos Mavropanos and Laurent Koscielny are still yet to re-join the first-team group completely as they recover from injuries.

There is better news for Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Petr Cech and Ainsley Maitland-Niles who all return to full training after suffering injuries.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Unai Emery lines his side up if both Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac are indeed injured for the clash on Thursday evening. It’s unclear whether Ainsley Maitland-Niles would be fit enough to fill in on the left but Stephan Lichtsteiner is always available to play at left-back once again.
