Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri praised Alvaro Morata’s performance his side’s 4-0 win away at Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking in his post-match press conference following the comprehensive victory, Sarri was quick to hail his striker’s display as he led the line and netted once again.
Morata opened the scoring for Chelsea at Turf Moor before goals from Ross Barkley, Willian and Ruben Loftus-Cheek capped a fine victory.
As quoted by Chelsea’s official club website, Sarri singled out Morata for praise and spoke of how his recent outings have acted as a catalyst for his season. The Italian manager said:
Alvaro today played well. He went to the ball when it was necessary. He went deep when it was necessary. He played a very good game.
Probably he could have scored more, he had three or four opportunities, but he scored a good goal. The last three or four matches can be a good restart for him.
Morata has been rotated with fellow striker Olivier Giroud throughout the campaign so far but appears to be Sarri’s current first-choice up front, as the former Real Madrid striker continues to flourish.
The 26-year-old attacker has now scored three goals from nine Premier League appearances this term.
