Manchester United’s Glazer family era could be set to come to an end after reports emerged on one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest families becoming interested in purchasing the club.
Fans have become increasingly frustrated with the board since the summer after they refused to match Jose Mourinho’s ambitions in the transfer market.
The Portuguese manager was publicly disappointed with the lack of action after he made it apparent he would need plenty of signings to catch up with Manchester City.
The Glazers have owned United for over a decade now with keen eyed supporters furious with the debt they’ve bestowed upon the club.
Perhaps Mourinho’s and fans’ frustrations can diminish if recent rumours of an interested party hold true.
According to Stretty News, the Daily Star report that the Red Devils would cost the Salman family £4 billion to claw the club away from the Glazer family’s hands.
Some sections of the fans are concerned of becoming similar to their rivals in the sense of becoming owned by a rich family who simply pump money into the club.
Manchester United certainly make plenty of money already but they do so through their own achievements rather than a rich owner.
Nonetheless only time will tell whether there is any truth to the reports so supporters will have to remain patient.
