Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been instructed to “bite his lip” by the club’s owners, the Glazer family.
The Portuguese manager is believed to be damaging Man United’s global reputation with his comments in the media and actions elsewhere.
Mourinho is currently “vigorously contesting” a charge from the Football Association for swearing in Portuguese at a camera after United’s epic 3-2 comeback victory against Newcastle United.
He’s under significant pressure at United for winning only one of the club’s last seven matches. The style of play, meanwhile, has been poor and there is a toxic atmosphere at the club waiting to break out.
The United board have previously told Mourinho to stop criticising his own players in public, suggest reports.
The Sun now suggests that Mourinho has been instructed to stop fighting publicly with club legend Paul Scholes, who has been critical of the United boss on a number of occasions.
It has transcended into an often bitter row between Scholes and Mourinho with the pundit making comments on BT Sport before the United boss responding in his press conferences or interviews.
It’s one of many farcical situations at United, with one such other being the team arriving late for their own home kick offs.
The whole club is slightly chaotic and it’s showing on the pitch.
