Chelsea ready to back Sarri with €20m bid for key target

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to pay as much as €20 million in order to sign Sandro Tonali.

According to reports in Italy from Calciomercato, Maurizio Sarri is a huge admirer of the player and Chelsea are willing to back the Italian and bring the midfielder to London.

Tonali is gathering a lot of interest in Italy, with the likes of Juventus, Roma and both Milan clubs taking notice of his performances in Serie B.

Brescia have already turned down offers for the player that is being dubbed ‘the next Andrea Pirlo’.

Both for his appearance, style of play and the fact he is turning out for Brescia, it is easy to see why Tonali has drawn comparisons to the former Italian international.

Chelsea inability to sign the players he wanted was one of Antonio Conte’s biggest gripes during his time at the club, but Sarri appears to have done enough in his short time in charge to convince the club’s hierarchy.
