Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has pointed a finger at the club’s players, stating they need to stand up.
With his former side seemingly disintegrating as the season goes on, fans are split over whether the players are to blame or Jose Mourinho.
United have only picked up 10 points out of a possible 21 so far this campaign and look as though they won’t finish anywhere as closely as they did last year.
Mourinho led his players to a second placed finish but this season things have been far from inspiring but Moyes doesn’t put the blame at his feet.
The Scotsman himself lost the job at Old Trafford a few years ago and knows just what it’s like to be under the same kind of pressure.
According to the Sport Review, David said to Sky Sports: “I don’t think the manager can always take all of the flack.
“There comes a point where the players need to stand up.”
It’s true that Jose isn’t the only one to blame for the club’s failings so far this season but he’s not exempt from it either.
The more the campaign has gone on the more erratic his decisions have become such as the call to play Scott McTominay in defence against West Ham.
The majority of the fans do agree however that plenty of the players’ attitudes have been poor this season across multiple games.
