Manchester United fans were definitely encouraged by the one positive aspect in Anthony Martial out of their shock loss to Derby.
The Frenchman was a bright spark in the Carabao Cup clash but couldn’t quite find his shooting boots.
Nonetheless, supporters were pleased to see his productivity after being disappointed with Alexis Sanchez’s performances of late.
United were expected to cruise past Derby but made a mess of things despite initially leading within five minutes of the match.
Sergio Romero was sent off and the away side took advantage but Marouane Fellaini equalised at the death to send it to penalties where the Red Devils fell apart.

Anthony would’ve made his case a lot stronger had he netted but it was still a fine display that should earn him another appearance.
Jose Mourinho is unlikely to drop Alexis Sanchez in his favour just yet but if he keeps up the good form then his time will come.
The Portuguese manager likes players forcing their way into his plans with Luke Shaw the perfect example of that.
The Englishman had to continuously play well before overtaking Ashley Young and now Martial must do the same.
