Manchester United supporters did not hide their anger towards Jose Mourinho following their side’s humiliating League Cup exit at the hands of Derby County at Old Trafford.
The home side begun well, taking the lead through Juan Mata before spurning a number of glorious chances to kill the game.
Chaos quickly ensued: Derby equalised – almost exactly at the same time as Wolves did on Saturday – and dominated the second half, going ahead late on and eventually winning 8-7 on penalties after Marouane Fellaini‘s late equaliser.
Supporters were quick to voice their frustration at what was another awful performance from Mourinho’s team.
I’m honestly envious at this point of anyone who can muster even an ounce of enthusiasm for the prospect of Mourinho as manager. It’s demoralising, exhausting and there’s no reason whatsoever to think it’s getting better

Obviously Mourinho has had plenty to contend with, but something that’s damning is how quickly managers like Lampard and Bielsa have got players far inferior to his playing proper football.

You're telling me mourinho faced a guy with 10 games under his belt and couldn't get the better of him, at home? VIVAMOURINHO

Whether you think he should have said what he said, Pogba was absolutely spot on. This team has no movement, no desire, no spark. Under Mourinho they are playing WAY below their potential.

No amount of grammar will change the fact that Jose Mourinho has passed his prime and Manchester United looks worse than it was before he took over. Stats say no but the quality of football screams YES! This is not what he was employed for. This is a monumental disgrace!

If it can’t get worse than it currently is, what’s wrong with sacking the manager? Love Mourinho the man, but not the manager anymore. Carrick in charge until we find the right candidate.

It was rightly pointed out by many during the game that Frank Lampard, ten games into his managerial career, was watching his team play with speed, precision and desire, while Mourinho, a managerial great in his third season at the club, could not produce anything which had even a semblance of method, of balance, of structure.
For a man who has had three summers to work with these players, on top of almost half a billion to work with, it was genuinely baffling to see his United team play this way.
Supporters should be angry. This team is playing miles below its potential.
