Juventus have not yet given up hope in their long-standing pursuit of Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata, according to Calciomercato.
The Spanish international was heavily linked with a return to Turin after enduring a difficult introduction to English football. Despite this, he opted to stay put and fight for his place under Maurizio Sarri.
In the opening stages of the season, Morata was Sarri’s preferred striking option. However, the Italian has since called on Olivier Giroud to provide a focal point for his side, with Chelsea continuing to thrive.
This has prompted yet more speculation surrounding Morata’s position at Stamford Bridge, with an exit from the club once again touted by the Italian media.
The 25-year-old striker has made five starts in all competitions this season and has chipped in with only one goal so far, which came in Chelsea’s dramatic win over Arsenal.
A return to Juventus may be of interest to the struggling forward. However, for the time being, he’ll be focused on working his way back into Sarri’s plans ahead of what promises to be an intriguing campaign for the Blues.
