Liverpool have been handed a boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to London to face Chelsea as their first-choice right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been declared fit to play after recovering from illness.
The teenager did not play on Wednesday night as Chelsea knocked Liverpool out of the Carabao Cup, but he has recovered from his illness and has played a full part in training.
Speaking ahead of the game, Jurgen Klopp said:
Trent trained yesterday completely normal. It was not a knock, Trent was a bit ill, but yesterday that looked pretty good.
Alexander-Arnold has established himself as Liverpool’s first-choice right-back and with doubts over the fitness of their best defender, Virgil van Dijk, Klopp will be keen to have the other members of his first-choice back four available.
Chelsea will be looking to complete a second win over the Reds in just a few days as they host the Reds at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
