Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been told that he is ‘too good’ to play for the club and must leave next summer.
Speaking Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, as translated by Sport Witness, former Belgian international Marc Degryse believes the player should have joined Real Madrid during the recent summer transfer window.
Well, I think Hazard could have used that transfer to Real Madrid more than Courtois. Hazard’s level above Chelsea, it’s bizarre that one of the best footballers in the world will not be playing the Champions League.
This really has to be his last season at Chelsea. Chelsea is not of the level Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, these clubs where he belongs today because of his status.
The attacker was heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu when Chelsea failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Hazard himself talked up the chances of leaving the club while at the World Cup in Russia, claiming it could be time for ‘something different’.
However, the player has remained at the club and now looks set to play a key role at Stamford Bridge under Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues looked to hire Sarri, who is known for his attacking style, in a bid to please Hazard, with many backing the Italian to take the player to another level this season.
