Liverpool may have pulled out of a deal to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon in the summer, but other top clubs across Europe are reportedly still interested in the Frenchman.
The Reds’ pursuit of Fekir was well-documented throughout the summer transfer window, with extensive negotiations held with Lyon.
It was believed that Jurgen Klopp’s men were on the verge of completing the signing of the France international, with the player keen to join. However, Liverpool apparently pulled the plug after Fekir’s knee problems allegedly affected his medical examinations ahead of the move.
This appeared to signal the end of Liverpool’s pursuit. Nevertheless, it does not appear to have put other clubs off a move for Fekir, with recent reports indicating that Real Madrid and Chelsea are keen.
According to a report from L’Equipe, as cited by TEAMtalk, Real’s interested has not waned despite Fekir’s well-documented record of injuries.
Chelsea, too, were linked with a move for the playmaker during the summer transfer window but no concrete move was made, as Fekir decided to stay put at Lyon.
The transfer saga involving Fekir does not appear to be over just yet, but potential suitors will need to part with a mammoth sum of €75 million if they are to convince Lyon to sell, according to the report.
