Brazilian winger Kenedy has not given up hope of securing a place at Chelsea next season as he faces another spell on loan at Newcastle.
Speaking to UOL, Kenedy refused to rule out a future at Stamford Bridge, despite falling out of favour in London in recent seasons.
It’s not that I did not avenge at Chelsea, I came to the age of 19. It was nice to be on loan for more playing time, better than staying in Chelsea and not playing. I have the dream to return and to be champion for the club.
The Brazilian joined the club from Fluminense with plenty of promise but struggled to break into the side on a regular basis.
He was used as a makeshift left-back under Jose Mourinho and endured a bit-part role under Antonio Conte.
Kenedy was sent on loan to Newcastle last season after falling out of favour at Chelsea.
Controversial comments made during pre-season saw his career stall before joining the Magpies.
He had a positive impact for Rafa Benitez’s side, helping them avoid relegation and he has now returned for a second spell.
There had been suggestions the player could join the club permanently and that is reportedly still an option, but it is clear that Chelsea remain in his sights.
