Chelsea have missed out on the signings of Gonzalo Higuain and Mattia Caldara, with the two players joining AC Milan.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the deal to take the two players to the San Siro is done after drawn-out negotiations.
Higuain is expected to join the San Siro outfit on loan, while Caldara is included in the deal to take Leonardo Bonucci back to Juventus.
Both players were heavily linked with moves to Stamford Bridge when it became known that they could be on their way out of Juventus.
Chelsea have spent the summer chasing a deal for Daniele Rugani, but turned their attention towards Caldara, who they earmarked as a cheaper alternative.
A deal for both players became complicated when Bonucci wanted to return to Juventus.
The latter only joined Milan last summer but now returns to the Old Lady as he goes in search of the Champions League trophy.
