Chelsea star Willian has insisted he’s trying to remain focused on Brazil rather than paying attention to any transfer rumours on his future.
The winger has been linked with a move to Manchester United since last winter but no official steps have been taken either by the player or the club.
Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on reuniting with the Brazilian since the pair worked together during their time at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea reportedly don’t wish to sell to United unless it means they can get Anthony Martial in return though there’s no doubt that won’t happen.
The Brazilian is still at the World Cup with his country as they gear up to face Belgium in the quarter-finals of the competition.
According to Manchester Evening News, Willian said: “We end up listening to speculation, things on the internet, but now is not the time to talk about it.
“I have not received any information that this is true. I’m trying to be focused on the Seleção.”
It’s no surprise that any potential deal for Willian would only ever happen after the conclusion of the World Cup on the 15th of July.
No other stars still involved with the tournament can afford the distraction of trying to figure out their club futures despite whichever club is interested in them.
The Red Devils will reportedly have to fight Spanish giants Barcelona for Willian’s signature but perhaps Mourinho can convince his former player to come to Old Trafford after all.
