AC Milan have initiated contact with Juventus as they look to pursue a deal for Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain, according to a report from Di Marzio.
The Blues are understood to have identified the Argentina international as the solution to their struggles in front of goal, with Maurizio Sarri keen to reunite with the striker at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s new boss enjoyed a strong working relationship with Higuain during the pair’s spell at Napoli, with a reunion in West London now seeming to be a genuine possibility.
Higuain has found his starting position in the Juventus line-up under threat this summer, with Juventus completing the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo for a club-record fee from Real Madrid.
This could lead him to seek an exit from Juve this summer, with a host of potential suitors emerging, including Chelsea.
Milan have been linked with the attacker for some time now and it seems Chelsea will have to act quickly if they are to fend off the Italian giants in the race for Higuain’s signature.
