Reports suggest that Arsenal are expected to conclude a deal for the 19-year-old midfielder Matteo Guendouzi next week (via GFFN).
The only midfielder Arsenal fans wanted their club to sign next week was Lucas Torreira but it seems that he could be joined by another.
In a story which has come out of nowhere, the Gunners are now reportedly close to sealing a deal for Lorient’s Matteo Guendouzi.
The 19-year-old French youth international is a central midfielder who made 20 appearances for the Ligue 1 side Lorient last season.
He was the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City earlier in the season but it seems that Arsenal are winning the race.
French publication RMC Sport has reported that the player will sign a deal at Arsenal at the start of this coming week.
Breaking | RMC now also reporting that Matteo Guendouzi will join Arsenal from Lorient at the beginning of the week.

It’s a story which has come out of nowhere but will certainly please many Arsenal fans. The club has a long history of signing young talent from France which has somewhat gone away in the recent years. Let’s hope Matteo Guendouzi isn’t the last Arsenal signing to come from this new golden generation of French footballers.
