Manchester United star Anthony Martial has left the club’s pre-season tour of the United States of America for personal reasons according to reports.
The Frenchman was Jose Mourinho’s main striker so far, leading the line in the club’s two matches against Club America and San Jose Earthquakes.
The Portuguese manager is relying on Martial to form a front trio with Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata for the start of the Premier League season.
Mourinho has already discussed how most of his World Cup stars won’t feature for the first couple of games due to them returning from holiday and not being fit yet.
The former AS Monaco star had the perfect opportunity to not only establish himself in the starting XI but to also do so in his favoured position.
According to the Daily Mail, Anthony left the Red Devils’ pre-season tour to be with his pregnant girlfriend ahead of the birth of his son.
Certainly understandable circumstances for the youngster to depart and there’s hopes he’ll be back in time for the rest of United’s pre-season fixtures.
Martial will miss the club’s clash against AC Milan which will be happening early on Thursday morning at 4am for the UK audience.
