Chelsea’s reported attempts to Robert Lewandowski have been dealt a blow as Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has ruled out the possibility of the striker leaving this summer.
It was reported earlier this month that the Polish star’s agent was shopping him to the likes of Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid but Hoeness’ comments suggest that the agent’s actions were in vain.
He told told Sky in Germany:
A €200m price tag is nonsense. Robert will not be sold and will play next season with us. Everything has been said about that.
Chelsea are seemingly in the market for a new striker with Alvaro Morata seemingly looking to secure a move back to Juventus and Lewandowski was one of the players being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
However, if Hoeness does stick to his word, the Blues will need to look elsewhere for a goalscorer and Lewandowski, even if he does want a move, could find himself at Bayern for at least one more year.
