Arsenal’s head of medical services Colin Lewin thas lost his job at the club, leaving players and staff ‘shocked and upset’ (via The BBC).
In the last few days, Arsenal have sacked a number of long-term staff members in a move which has left players and staff ‘shocked and upset’.
First team coaches Boro Primorac and Neil Banfield, as has goalkeeping coach Gerry Peyton and regulars Tony Colbert and Paul Johnson.
Many were expected but perhaps the biggest surprise has been the decision to remove the club’s head of medical services Colin Lewin.
Lewin is highly thought of amongst Arsenal fans and the football community as has fallen victim to a major restructure conducted by the club’s head of high-performance Darren Burgess.
Other medical staff have been asked to re-apply for their old jobs in what has been called a ‘culling’ in the media.

Many Arsenal fans wanted change at the club and it seems that it is coming. For decades, Arsene Wenger controlled so many aspects of the club but there appears to be a tremendous redistribution of power behind the scenes at the club. The duties carried out by Wenger and his closest confidants will now seemingly be shared amongst the new head coach as well as Ivan Gazidis, Raul Sanllehi, Sven Mislintat and Darren Burgess.
