Juventus remain intent on prizing Anthony Martial away from Manchester United this summer in a deal similar to that of Douglas Costa, according to reports from Italy.
The Frenchman has been reduced to just three Premier League starts since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez and the Serie A leaders have expressed keen interest in his services.
Talk of Martial leaving has quietened down over the last couple of weeks, however, and the reliable Andy Mitten recently claimed that the Frenchman will not leave Old Trafford over the summer.
But according to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Juventus remain keen on securing Martial’s signature and are set to line up a deal similar to the package put together to draw Costa away from Bayern Munich last year.
Martial’s future remains a hot topic among United supporters and it remains unclear as to which way the saga will go. You would think on the face of it that the 22-year-old, firmly on the periphery of Mourinho’s plans, would jump at the opportunity to play regular football elsewhere.
At the same time, however, the current case of Martial is notably similar to that of Paul Pogba earlier this year. The Frenchman was consigned to the bench on several occasions through February and March, and his reaction has been perfect. There is no reason why it cannot be the same for Martial.
