Marouane Fellaini‘s entourage have established contact with Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille over a potential free transfer this summer, according to reports from France.
Jose Mourinho noted last month that a new contract was “very close” to being agreed with Fellaini, making it clear that he wanted to keep the player.
But no progress has been made since and it looks likely that Fellaini, who has reportedly entered talks with AC Milan as well, will find a new club this summer.
And according to French media outlet L’Equipe, Marseille have established contact with Fellaini over the possibility of a move to Ligue 1.
United fans as a whole struggle to come to a proper consensus, whether it be regarding their manager or whether Luke Shaw is any good, but one thing they do agree on, unequivocally and with fervour, is that Fellaini should no longer be at this club.
He has always applied himself admirably, bringing fight and tenacity to the midfield, but the way he has held the club to ransom in the public eye and continued to demand more money since contract talks were established in September cannot be excused.
And United, above anything, need somebody better as Mourinho undertakes a considerable overhaul of his squad this summer.
