Chelsea target Radja Nainggolan has played down any chance of a move to the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.
The Roma midfielder has also been linked to Manchester United, however, he is insistent that he will extend his deal to stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final against Liverpool, Nainggolan said:
I always prefer to go for the tougher route. I’ll be here for years to come. I don’t like the idea of leaving a place where I’m happy – that’s just the way I am.’
The 29-year-old midfielder has played 135 games for Roma since joining in 2014, and he believes the Serie A side can overturn Liverpool’s 5-2 lead and make it to the final.
Belgian internationals have fared well in the Premier League over recent years. Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku to name just a few have succeeed, however, Nainggolan is adamant that he wants to remain in Italy so Chelsea will need to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements.
