Arsene Wenger has revealed whether or not Henrikh Mkhitaryan will return to match fitness in time for the Europa League semi-finals (via Arsenal.com).
Now that the Gunners are safely through and the draw has been made, Arsenal fans can look forward to the Europa League semi-finals.
Arsenal men have been pitted against Atletico Madrid, the best side remaining in the competition in what will be a huge test.
Arsene Wenger will want a fully fit squad to choose from for the clash after several key stars missed yesterday’s 2-2 draw with CSKA Moscow.
One of them is Henrikh Mkhitaryan who was a key starting player for the club until he picked up an injury in the first-leg last week and now, Arsene Wenger has revealed
“He has a medial ligament strain, he should be out for two more weeks,” Wenger said after the match.
“Do not be too worried. We have a very good medical staff and he is very serious in his rehab.”
So, it seems that Henrikh Mkhitaryan should be back in time for the second leg but that the first match against Atletico Madrid could come too soon. The Armenian is an important player and let’s hope he returns quickly.
