Santi Cazorla has revealed when he wants to return to first team training after taking to the Emirates pitch for a workout on Thursday evening (via The Mirror).
It was an incredibly pleasing sight for Arsenal when Santi Cazorla took to the Emirates pitch on Thursday evening.
The Spanish midfielder had a light training session on the pitch a full 18 months after he picked up an injury in the 6-0 win over Ludogorets in October 2016.
Now, Cazorla has revealed when he wants to return to first-team training and put an end to his injury hell.
“I hope I’ll be back in full training in maybe two weeks. It’s a challenge but a positive one.”
Arsene Wenger also spoke about the player but was a little more uncertain about Cazorla whose contract expires at the end of the season.
“He feels well. But he needs a full preparation and pre-season to try to come back,” Wenger said after the match.
“Will he come back, and where? I don’t know. Will he stay at Arsenal? I don’t know.”
Every Arsenal fan will be hoping that Santi Cazorla can make a full recovery and return to first-team action. He’s one of the best players the club has had during the Arsene Wenger era and Gunners fans will be hoping that Cazorla’s Arsenal career will continue a little while longer.
