Jose Mourinho has made it clear that there is “no chance” of David de Gea leaving Manchester United in the summer.
The Spaniard was moments away from joining Real Madrid on deadline day back in 2015, only for the move to fall through amid a series of documentation issues.
Speculation of another Real approach will likely surface once again in the summer following De Gea’s best ever season at Old Trafford, during which he has managed 21 clean sheets.
And Mourinho, speaking ahead of Man United’s clash with Arsenal this weekend, stated emphatically that his keeper wasn’t going anywhere.

Simply out of the question. Not happening. Pack it up and look for a story elsewhere, please, or at least fabricate something more original.
De Gea’s links with a move to the Bernabeu every summer are not grounded in the leaks and whispers like normal. The only reason his name continues to come up is essentially down to his internationally recognised brilliance, and how that, by nature, necessitates a link with the European champions.
And of course that night in the summer of 2015, where all chaos broke lose as Real messed up a transfer they’d been lining up for months and Twitter genuinely felt like a good place for once, continues to prick the popular imagination, promoting the reemergence of the same narrative.
But that is all it is. Narrative. Patterns of gossip. De Gea is the best in the world and, no, you cannot have him.
