Manchester United’s Alexis Sanchez has given an insight into his thought processes before scoring the equalising goal against Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-final.
Jose Mourinho’s men travelled to Wembley in search of another cup final and managed to get it superbly having initially trailed.
United secured a comeback win having starting the match so poorly and conceding first though it wasn’t too long before Sanchez’s equaliser.
After the break Mourinho’s men were in full control of the match and grabbed the winner through an Ander Herrera effort.
Alexis was deservedly named the man of the match and certainly rose to the occasion, dragging his teammates back into the game.
Sanchez: “It was a great pass from Paul Pogba, and when the ball was in the air I wanted to hit it to the near post but then I saw the goalkeeper go the other way so I changed to the far post to catch him off balance.” #mufc [Goal] pic.twitter.com/T2cPEwLnBS

Paul Pogba really did cross superbly as the ball dipped right onto Alexis Sanchez’s head with such precision that all he had to do was place it.
Thankfully he placed it on the right side as it went in and replays showed Tottenham’s goalkeeper initially attempt to predict where the Chilean was going to place it.
It’s incredible how in a few split seconds Sanchez could see it all unfold and made the correct decision to grab the equaliser.
Had it not been for his goal, who knows how the result would’ve ended up as Spurs were growing into the game at the time.
