Chelsea’s new manager could be the deciding factor in Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of landing Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi on a permanent basis.
Speaking to Bild, as reported by the Bundesliga’s official website, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed the club’s intention to pursue a permanent move.
A move to sign the striker this summer could depend on who is in charge at Stamford Bridge next season, with Conte expected to leave the club despite having one year left on his contract.
The interest to sign him is basically there. Chelsea have two strikers with [Olivier] Giroud and [Alvaro] Morata anyway. But first we have to wait and see who will be Chelsea’s coach next season. Then we’ll see.

The Belgian striker has enjoyed a fruitful loan spell in the Bundesliga but has seen his stint with Dortmund cut short through injury.
Ligament dangle to his ankle means that the striker will not play again this season, putting his World Cup hopes in doubt.
In 10 Bundesliga appearances, Batshuayi found the back of the net on seven occasions and it is yet to be seen whether or not if the striker has a future at Stamford Bridge.
