Arsenal transfer budget for next season has been revealed and it isn’t exactly as much as most fans would be hoping for (via The Telegraph).
Whoever replaces Arsene Wenger in the summer will have a tough task on their hands as the next Arsenal manager.
Aside from the obvious enormity of the task of managing Arsenal, the new manager will also have to change up many first-team players and impose their own identity on the team.
This can be expensive and it has been revealed that the club will have a transfer budget of just £50 million in the summer.
The figure will be eclipsed by many of the clubs Arsenal are hoping to be competing with next season with Manchester City spending around £500 million in the last three years.
But it’s not as impossible as many would think. In terms of wages, Arsenal will lose some, if not all of the likes of Per Mertesacker, Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, David Ospina and Danny Welbeck.
We can also expect some money recouped from potential player sales with the likes of Lucas Perez and Joel Campbell expected to be sold.
Add to that the fact that clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have spent barely anything in the last few years but have remained competitive in multiple competitions. It will be tough but Arsenal can certainly come out of this transfer window in good shape.
