Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly wants Axel Tuanzebe to remain on loan next season as he bids to challenge for the Premier League title.
The youngster was sent out on loan as there were too much competition for places in the current squad in the position he plays in.
Normally a centre back, Tuanzebe might’ve been hoping to return this summer ready to be a part of the first team in the next campaign but if rumours are to be believed then there are other plans for him.
The defender is highly rated amongst United’s staff but faces the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo and Victor Lindelof for the first team position.
Mourinho is said to be planning a defensive revamp in the summer as well which will surely not help the on loan player’s chances.
According to Caught Offside, the Sun report that Jose intends for Axel to remain at Aston Villa next season in order to continue gaining experience and developing.
Another loan spell with the current Championship club may do him some good, particularly if they gain promotion to the Premier League.
Axel Tuanzebe also picked up a bit of an injury during his current spell away which have definitely halted any chances of improving.
