Jose Mourinho has confirmed that no Manchester United players picked up fresh injuries during last weekend’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Antonio Valencia seemed to be in discomfort as he came off with ten minutes left to be replaced by Matteo Darmian, while Jesse Lingard also limped off having received a number of studs down his achilles.
Eric Bailly missed out on the match-day squad altogether after suffering with a virus in the lead-up to the game.
But the 55-year-old, speaking at a press conference ahead of his final clash with Arsene Wenger as Arsenal boss, has revealed that every single outfield player is fit, with only Sergio Romero set to miss out.
“Everybody’s fine,” he said. “I have 22 players and apart from Romero as a goalkeeper, everyone is fit to play.”
Mourinho has the luxury of a full outfield complement as he enters the final five games of the 2017/18 season, providing a remarkably stark contrast to the bedraggled and ever diminishing options at his disposal at the same point last year as he sought to maintain parity in the Premier League while keeping his main options ready for the Europa League.
And with an FA Cup final to look forward to, the boss won’t be in much of a mood to change his starting XI around too much. The next few weeks will see Mourinho, bit by bit, work on the shape he wants his side to have against Chelsea, and that can only come through giving those players he wants to start as much game time as possible.
