Manchester United target Fabinho has reiterated his desire to leave AS Monaco this summer and insisted that no contact had been established with Paris Saint Germain.
The French champions came close to securing the Fabinho’s services last summer but Monaco, much to the Brazilian’s frustration, denied him a move away having already allowed a litany of big names to leave.
He will be granted a move away this summer and Jose Mourinho, who needs to reinforce both full-back and midfield over the summer, has expressed interest in him.
And the 55-year-old will be encouraged to hear that Fabinho has yet to receive any interest from PSG like he did last summer.
“I had contacts with PSG last summer, but this year I have not heard anything,” he said.
“They are a great club and, if I leave the Monaco, it is clear that I want to go to a bigger club. However, at the moment however I have not received any proposal for the next season.”
Juventus and Atletico Madrid are among those likewise interested in Fabinho, who has once again excelled at the heart of midfield for Monaco this season despite what has been an underwhelming campaign.
And he seems like a uniquely practical signing for Mourinho: physically imposing, smooth in possession, capable of covering ground quickly, adept at playing both right back and in defensive midfield.
It would be a shrewd signing, taking the load off Antonio Valencia and Nemanja Matic next season.
