David Dein: Wenger Will Have No Shortage Of Offers

Former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein has insisted that Arsene Wenger will have no shortage of offers from other clubs when he leaves Arsenal (via Sky Sports).

Arsene Wenger’s announcement that he will be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season has obviously started much debate amongst Gunners fans.

The question on everyone’s lips is who will be Wenger’s replacement at the Emirates but it will also be fascinating to see what happens next to the Frenchman personally.

The vast majority of Arsenal fans obviously hold a tremendous affection for Wenger and are eager to find out whether he will retire, move to a different role at Arsenal or leave to manage elsewhere.

Well, former Arsenal vice-chairman and friend of Wenger’s, David Dein has insisted that many clubs will be interested in the Frenchman.

“There will be no shortage of offers,” Dein told Sky Sports.

“He is going to be 69 in October and he is extraordinarily fit. He has a very active mind and great knowledge of the game.

“Over the last few years I know for a fact that he has been approached by some of the biggest clubs in the world – I think Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, the England national team wanted him at one stage.

“His results speak for themselves over the years. He has been enormously successful and will undoubtedly go down in history as the greatest Arsenal manager ever.”

Arsene Wenger will undoubtedly go down as Arsenal’s greatest ever manager but it’s clear that things aren’t working right now. However, the Frenchman is clearly in good health and if he has the appetite to continue managing then there will surely be no shortage of offers. It would be fascinating to see how he gets on at another club or even potentially as manager of the French national team.
