Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has admitted that a top four finish for his team may be a tough task.
Currently in fifth, the Blues sit five points behind Spurs in fourth place, and eight points behind Liverpool, who they have a game in hand over.

With four matches left to play, it seems a lot would have to go Chelsea’s way to see them gain qualification to the Champions League.
This isn’t a fact escaping Gary Cahill, either:
I mean, I am not being negative by any stretch, but the games are running out and the teams in there are very good, so if they do let it up it’ll be very, very surprising.
(There is) that gap and the point difference, but the obvious thing is all we can do is win our games.
A frustrating season for Chelsea has seen the club fail to even get close to the form that saw them win the Premier League title last year, with defeats to Watford and Bournemouth characteristic of the misfiring champions.
Manager Antonio Conte has been rumoured to be on the way out at Stamford Bridge, despite just being one year removed from that victorious campaign.

However, the central defender Cahill is just focused on the remaining games in the season, in addition to the FA Cup final against Manchester United:
It was important that we tried to reach the final, so it gives us a good opportunity now.
The final didn’t go great for us last year, so we want to try and make amends, but we did the job that we needed to do.
