Ajax winger Justin Kluivert recently alerted a number of top European clubs when he suggested that he could see himself playing in the Premier League and La Liga in the future, but his father, Patrick, believes he shouldn’t push a move too soon.
Chelsea were named by Justin among a number of clubs including Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid as potential destinations, but Ajax currently have no intentions to sell one of their latest academy graduates.
Justin has six goals and four assists in 19 Eredivisie appearances so far this season and young players can often look to fast-track themselves to the top, but his father Patrick, who had spells with Barcelona and Milan after coming through the Ajax academy, has some advice for his son.
As cited by Sky Sports, Patrick believes his son should not leave Ajax soon but admits it’s difficult to turn down the advances of big clubs, like Barcelona.
He should not leave his country soon. It’s difficult to say no to Barca, but also to other big teams.
In addition, he has urged his son not to follow the money, but when he decides to move he joins a team that suits his style of play.
He should choose the team that responds most to his play and not to the one that pays him more money.
