Chelsea could make a surprise move for former Watford boss Marco Silva if Antonio Conte leaves the club before the end of the season.
The Times reports Marina Granovskaia is a big fan of the Portuguese coach and he could be considered as a caretaker option.
Watford were one of the surprises of the season but Silva was sacked by the Hornets last month after interest from Everton turned his head.
The Blues are hoping that Conte remains at the club until the end of the season, but actions may be taken in the team’s form continues to slump.
Chelsea have won just three times in nine games across all competitions.
Qualifying for next season’s Champions League will be seen as vital and should the Blues drop out of the bottom four then Conte could face the sack.
The former Juventus coach is widely expected to leave the club at the end of the season as he becomes disillusioned with the way the club works.
Conte has on a number of occasions admitted his frustration with the club’s transfer policies.
