Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater believes the Blues deserved to come away from Old Trafford with something from the game.
As reported by the Independent, Drinkwater expressed his disappointment as the Blues fell to a 2-1 defeat on Sunday.
We definitely should have got something from the game. In the first half we were very dominant. In the second half it was a bit different, it was more even, but we didn’t deserve to lose that game, no chance.
Willian had put the Premier League champions in front in the first half. The Brazilian started and finished a brilliant counter-attack, sending a powerful shot past David De Gea.
Chelsea were much the better side during the first half but let the hosts back into the game just before the half-time whistle.
Former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku found the back of the net after some neat build-up play from United in and around the penalty box.
Second-half substitute Jesse Lingard put United in front with a free header with 15 minutes left to play.
After a spirited match against Barcelona at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea put in a similar performance at Old Trafford but lacked a cutting edge up front.
