Chelsea do not want to sack Antonio Conte this season and would rather see him leave by ‘mutual consent’ in the summer.
The Telegraph reports that the current Premier League champions do not want to make a change while a place in the top four remains up for grabs.
The financial outlay to sack Conte this season would be far greater than it would be if he was to leave at the end of the season, which may well play a part in the club’s decision.
Pressure is mounting on Conte after Chelsea’s heavy defeat away at Watford on Monday night.
Reports had suggested that the game at Vicarage Road could have been the tipping point, but that does not seem to be the case.
With Liverpool due to play on Sunday, Chelsea could start Monday night’s game against West Brom five points outside of the top four.
