The BBC is reporting that Arsenal have offered Jack Wilshere a new contract which would see the Englishman receive a weekly wage drop.
In many ways, most of Arsenal’s problems in recent years can be traced back to one thing: poor player contract negotiation.
From Ashley Cole to Robin Van Persie to the current group of players like Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Arsenal have a massive problem with tying down their key players to long-term contracts but it seems that they are taking some steps to avoid that.
The BBC is reporting that the club has offered a new contract to the midfielder, Jack Wilshere.
The 26-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of next season but the BBC’s Ian Dennis claims that the proposed deal would see Wilshere on a lower weekly wage but far more available in terms of incentives.
Understand Arsenal have offered a new deal to Jack Wilshere. The offer is less money than his current deal but it's heavily incentivised. #AFC

Presumably, this is just to incentivise Wilshere to stay fit which is an understandable position for Arsenal to take in these negotiations. Wilshere is a quality player and a future Arsenal captain if he continues to perform the way he has in recent weeks. Let’s hope this gets sorted out soon.
