Andreas Christensen has become the success story that Chelsea were longing for from their much-maligned loan system and the centre-back has earned the trust of Antonio Conte.
After two successful years at Borussia Monchengladbach, Christensen returned to Stamford Bridge in the summer and has established himself as one of the first-choice centre-backs this season.
The 21-year-old Denmark international has started seven of the last 10 Premier League games, including each of the last five and seems to have moved ahead of David Luiz and Gary Cahill in the pecking order, and clubs are taking notice.
Inter Milan failed with a summer move for Christensen and it’s reported that they are still tracking the young defender with a view to a move when the January transfer window opens.
Christensen also qualifies as a home-grown talent for Chelsea, contributing to the eight-man quota that is demanded by the Premier League, making him a coveted asset by the club and any departure is highly unlikely.
