Manchester United fans were encouraged by star Frenchman Paul Pogba’s performance vs a stubborn Southampton side at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman captained his team in the Premier League fixture but was unable to lead them to glory as both clubs shared the spoils.
United’s inconsistent form since the loss to Manchester City has continued and several players have been accused of failing to live up to the club’s high standards.
Pogba though was an exception to his teammates and was one of the few players who could walk off the field with his head somewhat high.
Fans weren’t unaware of his efforts either with the former Juventus midfielder putting in a display that his colleagues should’ve benefitted from.
Lingard’s movement & determination the only positive I can see in this game. Pogba oozing class when he gets it. But he’s still too deep in this formation to influence the game. So frustrating.

Couldn’t beat Leicester, Burnley or Southampton. That is absolutely dreadful. We have 2 world class players; De Gea and Pogba. The squad isn’t good enough, the performances haven’t been either. Players and manager need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Since arriving from the Italian giants, Paul has seen his status at the Red Devils rise by the game.
Although he didn’t have the best of first seasons, he put in a solid foundation to build on and it’s exactly what he did this time around.
Paul Pogba’s form this season has him close to the levels he achieved at the Old Lady, allowing him to have more influence on Manchester United’s season.
Fans clearly saw the quality they were lacking whenever he was absent, whether through injury or suspension.
Nemanja Matic, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Scott McTominay and Marouane Fellaini represent the club’s other midfielders and it’s clear to see none of the above players are similar to the French international.
With more responsibility given to him at United, Pogba will have to continue to increase his level of performance, especially if his side are to have any hope of silverware this season.
