Manchester United will take on Sevilla in the last 16 of this season’s Champions League.
Jose Mourinho’s men claimed top spot in Group A after claiming 15 points out of a possible 18, with their only set-back coming against FC Basel, who have drawn Manchester City.
Sevilla finished behind Liverpool in their group, notably overturning a three goal in the home clash against Jurgen Klopp’s men.
The first leg will take place in Seville, where the Spanish side haven’t lost in over a year, before the second leg at Old Trafford.
Sevilla have a superb coach in Eduardo Berrizo but they are, statistically, the worst side left in the Champions League considering nobody else still standing in the competition accrued fewer than ten points on route to the knockout phases. Leicester City got past them at this stage last season.
And while Mourinho may have also developed a welcome habit of thrashing Sevilla during his time as Real Madrid boss, Man United cannot take this encounter lightly. They are an efficient, hard-working outfit with nimble forwards capable of stinging you out of the blue.
That said, with the second leg at Old Trafford, supporters will expect United to deal with a Sevilla side that doesn’t travel particularly well at all.
