Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Michael Carrick and Eric Bailly will both miss Sunday’s Manchester derby through injury.
Carrick hasn’t featured since September due to heart problems but recently confirmed that he has working his way back to full fitness.
Bailly’s last appearance dates back to the defeat at Stamford Bridge as the Ivorian continues to recover from a groin problem.
And Mourinho, speaking ahead of the clash with Pep Guardiola’s side, noted that the pair would miss out once again, adding that Marouane Fellaini will be assessed tomorrow.
The #MUFC manager also says Michael Carrick and Eric Bailly will not feature against Manchester City.

The continued absence of Bailly is becoming a concern. He has failed to feature after the last two international breaks and the complete lack of detail surrounding the nature of his problem this time around is worrying to say the least. Usually some kind of return date is hinted at but supporters have been kept in the dark for over a month.
Carrick’s calming, organised presence during the latter stages of this encounter could have been important, but we will have to wait a bit longer before seeing the captain fully recover from a cardiac ablation.
Supporters face an anxious wait to see if Mourinho can deploy the aerial threat posed by Fellaini that could wreak havoc from set pieces.
