Chelsea are yet to pay Exeter City compensation for the transfer of Ethan Ampadu last summer, according to Goal.
The promising youngster put pen to paper on a deal to join Chelsea at the back end of last season, however, a fee between the Blues and Exeter had not been agreed.
Exeter chairman Julian Tagg discussed the ongoing situation regarding the compensation for Ampadu’s transfer, but was relaxed when discussing the negotiations.
We don’t have a date yet for the tribunal but the arbitration is taking its natural course and we will inform fans when we know more.
Our relationship with Chelsea remains good, as it has been throughout this whole process, and it is nice to see Ethan doing so well and earning praise for his performances at both club and international level.
A tribunal date is yet to be set, but Exeter remain keen to go in search of their rightful compensation claim from the deal to land the youngster.
Ampadu has impressed for Chelsea this season and has stepped up remarkably well for such a young player. He has featured for the senior side largely in cup competitions and is showing positive signs for the future.
The 17-year-old scooped the man of the match award on Wednesday night as Chelsea defeated Bournemouth 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
