Romelu Lukaku claimed his 15th goal of the season to keep his critics quiet during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
The Belgian responded to widespread criticism of his performance against Manchester City with a winning goal against AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday.
And he set the platform for another three points for Jose Mourinho’s men at the Hawthorns with a bullet header from Marcus Rashford‘s cross after 27 minutes.
Lukaku’s numbers from the game tell the story of what was another purposeful display at the masthead of attack.

The striker stood there completely motionless as the ball crashed into the net, his teammates mobbing him and travelling supporters bouncing with glee, seemingly unmoved by a moment that should have provided cause for hearty celebration.
He did the same against Bournemouth during the week and you sense this new form of non-celebration could be a symbol of a mindset change following a difficult couple of months.
There have been times when the task of leading the line at Old Trafford has seemed overwhelming for him – a job that he has allowed to dominate him rather than the other way around.
And that blank stare, in contrast, could be seen as Lukaku acknowledging that he still has some way to go under Mourinho this season.
