Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos has reportedly asked his bosses to invest in Manchester United’s world class goalkeeper David De Gea.
De Gea was initially brought into the club by legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who saw the then young Spaniard as a player who can be United’s goalkeeper for the next decade at least.
Now 27 years old and having reached, if not exceeded, his potential, the former Atletico Madrid player is in the prime years of his career.
The Red Devils have heavily relied upon David in recent season and he has single handedly saved the club points at times.
His rise in importance in club football led to his rise in international football as gained cap after cap for his senior team.
According to Don Balon, fellow Spaniard Sergio Ramos has nudged his superiors in the direction of De Gea, as he believes the Manchester United goalkeeper is the perfect player for the La Liga giants.
David has previously had his head turned by the capital club and United fans have a faulty fax machine to thank after Madrid’s failure to land him in the infamous transfer fiasco.
Since then it appeared as though the player moved on from his apparent dreams to return to Spain, only occasionally flirting with the idea whilst not entirely claiming loyalty to Manchester United.
This has left fans consistently worried of losing their most talented player, a reminder of the Cristiano Ronaldo days.
Ramos is an influential figure at Real Madrid and his opinion may see the transfer turn into a reality but it’s unlikely that Jose Mourinho will sell cheaply, if at all.
