Chelsea and Manchester United sent club officials to Besiktas midweek to scout Arsenal target Oguzhan Ozyakup.
Besiktas played Porto in a 1-1 draw and Besiktas are now the first Turkish club to go to the Round of 16 of the Champions League as group winners.
According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, United and Chelsea were there scouting Ozyakup, along with Tolgay Arslan and Cenk Tosun.
They are all receiving interest from the Premier League, with Spurs reportedly after Arslan in the summer, offering €10million, but Besiktas were not going to negotiate anything under €12million.
Talking to the media, Arslan said (via Turkish Football):
Leaving is not on my mind. I am focused on winning the league.
Across North London, Arsenal have been linked with former Gunner Ozyakup, who was a youth product at the Emirates but never made a Premier League appearance before moving to Turkey.
He made two appearances for the Gunners, both in the League Cup, at home to Shrewsbury Town and to Bolton, both of which Arsenal were victorious.
The 24-year-old’s contract runs out in summer so is able to talk to other clubs when the January transfer window opens. However, the Blues and the Red Devils are also reportedly interested.
